Privacy

Short, plain, honest. Written under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What I collect

Almost nothing. The server keeps standard web-server logs — IP address, timestamp, URL requested, browser string, and a referrer if your browser sent one. Logs are kept 14 days and used only for security and fault-finding.

There are no analytics scripts on this site. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Hotjar, no Clarity, no Cookiebot, no Facebook tags. There are no third-party fonts, no CDN, no tracking cookies, no advertising network. If you open the browser developer tools and look at the network panel, you'll see requests to this domain only.

Cookies

I don't set any. The browser may remember theme preferences locally but nothing is written to this server about you.

If you came from an advertisement

You may have landed on this site through a Google ad, a Meta ad, or a search engine result. In that case your referring URL (the ad network's redirect URL) is logged exactly like any other referrer, in the 14-day web-server log. The advertising network itself tracks you on its own side — I have no control over that and no visibility into what they store. If you want to opt out of personalised advertising, set your ad settings on Google Ads Settings and AboutAds.info.

Email

If you email me at the address on the Contact page, I will store your email in my personal mailbox until I've replied and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. I don't put you on a list. I don't send newsletters.

What I don't do

Your PIPEDA rights

You have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you and to request a copy or deletion of it. Email the address on the Contact page and I'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
